4 Local Fall Activities in the Charlotte Area

Autumn is the perfect time to be outside with your family and enjoy the cooler brisk weather while enjoying the changing of the leaves and season. In North Carolina there are multiple events and places to visit this fall season, even some in Union County. Here at Spivey Insurance Group we wanted to make sure you and your family kick off this fall season with some quality time with your family.

Aw Shucks Farm is located here locally in Monroe. Aw Shucks Farm is a popular fall destination for all ages. There is a 6-acre corn maze, a pumpkin patch, hayrides, an animal barn, frequent concerts on their outdoor stage, bonfires, a fishing pond, a haunted trail, and an old-fashioned general store with all sorts of interesting things. This is a one stop shop for all your fall festivities.

Cane Creek Park is the most popular park in Union County. The park’s main attraction is beautiful 350-acre lake that has a nice beach area. The lake is great for boating, fishing, and just enjoying the views. The park has great camping facilities, several kids’ playgrounds, a horse campground, and paved trails for hiking and biking. This park is great for a afternoon walk around the trail and stop and have a nice family picnic.

SCarowinds is a haunted edition of the theme park Carowinds. Located on the NC/SC border there are 16 haunted attractions and shows. This is the largest Halloween event in Charlotte. If you are a season pass holder you are able to get in for free, but tickets range as low as $29.99. SCarowinds starts select nights from September 15th through October 29th.

Crowder’s Mountain is just a short 30 minute drive from Charlotte city limits. There are trails that your family can climb to the top to see for miles in every direction. This is a great way to get out and enjoy the weather and soaking in the changing leaves.Once you get to the top the view is great. We also suggest packing a picnic to enjoy along the way.

There are so many fun great opportunities in the Union and Mecklenburg County area. All of these location you are able to see the beautiful colors and enjoy some quality family time. It is also great because all of these locations are just a short drive from Union County.
