29 Oct Charlotte Hornets Back in the Queen City
Carolinian’s love to show support for their local sports teams. The Charlotte Hornets, the local NBA team is back in town after being in New Orleans for many years. The Charlotte Hornets were established in 1988, but relocated in the 2001-2002 season. After the Hornets had left, the Charlotte Bobcats was created. Many fans were devastated when the Hornets transferred. Since the Hornets are back in the Queen City, Charlotte has been rejuvenated with a new life. The Charlotte Hornets is getting a fresh new look, but with the old school feel.
The Hornets bring back the old school vibe that many Carolinian’s love about Charlotte. Today is the Charlotte Hornets first regular season game of 2014-2015 against the Milwaukee Bucks. In early 2013 the decision was made to officially change Charlotte Bobcats back to the Charlotte Hornets. This was a deal that Michael Jordan, owner of the Bobcats had wanted to do since 2010. By changing the name back to the Hornets it has recaptured many of the fans that had been lost during the Bobcats period. By reviving Charlotte through bringing the Hornets back, they hope to have one of the best seasons yet. Time Warner Cable Arena has a great atmosphere and allows fans to show their Charlotte pride. A Hornets Game is the perfect place to have an awesome night out with the family.
