13 Jun Keep Your Pets Safe this Summer

Pets are a part of the family too and it is important to keep them safe this summer. Pets need to remain healthy and happy during the warm months ahead. When the temperature rises significantly it is best to bring your pets indoors. Not all of us want animals in the house, but it will protect them from getting overheated. Here are some quick tips on how to keep your pet safe this summer!

• Provide your animals with plenty of water and shade. When they are playing around the backyard make sure they have plenty of playtime breaks. Make sure that your pet is hydrated frequently. Pay attention to their panting.

• Make sure to have a collar ID tag. Make sure the phone number and address is correct on the ID tag to ensure safety for your pet.

• Never leave your animals alone in a hot car. It is illegal in some states.

• Do not leave your animal unsupervised around a pool, lake, or beach.

If you are unable to keep your pets inside provide them an outdoor shelter that will protect them from Mother Nature. Not only is it important to look out for you own pets, but help out those neighborhood animals who don’t have shelter.  Take care of your pets this summer and show them the love that they need.
