19 Nov How to Prepare the Perfect Thanksgiving Feast
Thanksgiving is one of our favorite holidays here at Spivey Insurance Group. One reason is because there is lots of food! This is a day to relax with your family and enjoy some traditional Thanksgiving dishes. With family coming into town and preparing for a Thanksgiving feast, it can also be a stressful time. Therefore, we’ve put together a couple of tips you can can do to make it stress-free and very enjoyable!
Make lists for everything. This includes the shopping lists; lists of things to do, and lists for who is bring what to the family Thanksgiving.
Plan on multiple shopping trips. Yes, we would like to think we can get everything in one trip to the store. This is reality, so, be honest with yourself and know that you or someone who is going to the store for you will forget something. Therefore, do your first shopping list a week before so you can then have time to get things you’ve forgotten.
Prep foods the day(s) before. Chop veggies, potatoes, things that can be stored in the fridge the day before or even sooner. The object is to do as least as possible the day-of.
Plan the Menu. Once you know how many guests you will have set, give your family a chance to make their own signature dish. Use the divide and conquer method to plan the perfect menu.
Gather the necessary party supplies. Not only do you want the food to be delicious, you also want the decorations to be festive. Make sure you plan the perfect table setting. This is essential to any great party. Make sure to include a tablecloth, silverware, centerpiece, and place setting. You can also make a seating chart to make the party flow even better.
