11 Sep 15 Years Later, Remembering 9/11
Do you remember where you were on September 11th, 2001? The exact place where you heard that two planes crashed into the Twin Towers in New York City. The feelings you had; the chills on your body. Now think of where you are today, 15 years later. Every year this day comes around, it makes us think of what we have loss from the tragic event. But it also makes us think of what we have gained. We live in a country where people sacrifice their life everyday, so that we can live a normal life in America. We live in a country where we are accepting of one another and to stand and say that we are proud to be an American. Our hearts will always remain with the ones who have loss their life on that tragic day, and their families too.
Looking back on the past 15 years, the journey that Americans have experienced together is like no other. We have grown as a community, continuously healing over time. We are perusing new adventures together as a nation, with the tragedy in mind. In the world that we live in today, when the number of mass shootings seems to be on the rise, our nation knows how to mourn losses and be there for one another. This is because 15 years ago our nation was forced to be there for each other, when there was no other. And that American community that was built 15 years ago remains constant today in the American culture whenever a new tragedy arises. Thinking back on this day 15 years ago and how much are nation has changed and grown is remarkable. Despite all the differences and conflicts in the world, we come together as Americans; that is what bonds us all. This day will forever remain heavy in our hearts.
