Getting to Know: Valerie Cox

Here is a brief description of Valerie Cox and what she enjoys doing in her spare time and what she has to offer to Spivey Insurance Group. Valerie is a big part of what makes Spivey Insurance function. We wanted to let you get to know her a little better.

Insurance Experience:
“I have been at Spivey Insurance Group for 21 years and also been working with Chris Spivey for that long. I have grown up in the insurance industry.”

Can you tell me a little bit about your family/home life? Pets? Kids?
“I have 4 kids. I cherish them and am lucky they get to call me mom. My oldest is married and recently had a baby. I have twins Sam and Seth that will be turning 14 soon. My youngest boy Deacon is 9. Sam is a gospel singer and just won first place in his school talent show and recently won an award in a gospel competition in Kentucky. One of my twins, Seth won a silver medal in the special Olympics last month.”

What’s the best part of the job?
“I enjoy getting to meet with so many people and getting to connect with them and getting to know them on a personal level.”

If you could describe yourself in one word what would it be & why?
“Determined, I have had stuff thrown at me with my family and children and I also try to make the best of every situation and always make sure I trust in God.”

What are some skills you have at Spivey Insurance that can help our customers?
“I have a broad insurance knowledge. I like to find what customer fits with what insurance provider. This helps the customers use that knowledge to their advantage.”

When you are not working what do you like to do?

“Traveling a lot with my three youngest children. We enjoy traveling to different church’s and revivals.”

My close friends know I really like…
“Going to yard sales on a Saturday morning.”
