25 Sep Join the Fun at Boots and Bow Ties!
The Union County Community shelter is a United Way agency that serves the people in need. UCCS is a full service homeless shelter, soup kitchen, and emergency family housing program. The shelter has grown and expanded over the years and offers different programs to serve the community. For the past several years the shelter has hosted an event called Boots and Bow Ties. This event is a country fair with carnival games, food, live music, and much more. All proceeds benefit the Union County Community Shelter. For the past two years this event has sold out. It is held at Twin Oaks farmed owned by Sharon and Lynn Raye.
Boots and Bow Ties is a great event to attend and is happening October 11th. Businesses and people in the community can sponsor the event. There are three different sponsorship levels: Gold Nugget, Silver Spur, and Tumbleweed. Gold Nugget sponsorship’s provide case management sessions for 10 homeless adults for 3 months to help them stabilize income, health, mental health, etc. Silver Spur sponsorship’s provide 15 cots for homeless adults to sleep on at the shelter. Last, but not least is the Tumbleweed sponsorship. This level can provide all meals for one day for 100 people in the soup kitchen. By being a sponsor like Spivey Insurance Group, purchasing tickets, or volunteering your time is a great way to help the Union County community. Spread the word and let everyone know about Boots and Bow Ties. Join Union County Community Shelter in ending homelessness! Check out their website to find out more information about this event.
