Let’s Celebrate National Children’s Day!

The Covid-19 pandemic has affected us all, but aside from anyone who’s suffered from the illness, perhaps the people that have been hurt the most are kids. Their routines have been disrupted just like ours, and younger children especially may not have the skills to cope with or even understand these changes. But with change comes the opportunity to create new traditions. This Sunday, June 14 is a great time to do something special for your kid, grandchild or any young person you’re close to, because it’s National Children’s Day! Here are some ideas for things to do to make the kid(s) in your life feel the love.

Have a Paint Party

Let your kid unleash their inner artist with a bunch of finger paints and different mediums to work with.

Go on a Picnic

Sometimes all it takes to brighten someone’s day is a change of scenery. Pack up a meal and bring it to a beautiful place to enjoy with your family.

Camp Out

If your kid loves the outdoors, spending a night under the stars can make memories they’ll cherish forever.

Bake Together

Baking with kids is a great way to let them express their creativity with different cookie cutters, icing, sprinkles, etc. It’s also a great way to bond with them and give them a real sense of accomplishment.

Have a Movie Marathon

If your kid love movies, you can have a day with no restrictions on screen time where you watch a bunch of movies together.

Dance the Day Away

The only thing more enjoyable for some kids than dancing is seeing their parents’ goofy dance moves. Put on some of your kid’s favorite music, let loose and dance your way through a fun-filled day.

Throw a Costume Party

Dress up, paint your faces, pretend to be your favorite character for a day, go wild!

With all the upheaval and uncertainty they’re facing, why not do something with the young people in your life to show how much you care? Just like we celebrate Mother’s Day and Father’s Day, it’s a great year to start observing Children’s Day if you don’t already.
