11 Sep Remembering 9/11
Do you remember where you were on September 11th, 2001? The exact place where you heard that two planes crashed into the Twin Towers in New York City. The feelings you had; the chills on your body. Now think of where you are today, 16 years later. Every year this day comes around, it makes us think of what we have loss from the tragic event. With every year that passes since the tragedy of 9/11, our nation heals a little more. But it also makes us think of what we have gained. We live in a country where people sacrifice their life everyday, so that we can live a normal life in America. We live in a country where we are accepting of one another and to stand and say that we are proud to be an American.
Looking back on the past 16 years, the journey that Americans have experienced together is like no other. We have grown as a community, continuously healing over time. We are pursuing new adventures together as a nation, with the tragedy in mind. Despite all the differences and conflicts in the world, we come together as Americans; that is what bonds us all. This day will forever remain heavy in our hearts.
