The pollen count is soaring and rain showers are upon us! Not to mention the chance of having that freakish hailstorm. Keep yourself protected by having that Umbrella close by. 

Hold on, if you thought I was going to give you an outlook on the weather for the next couple of weeks you are mistaken. Besides, the weather seems bi-polar lately so who in the world could predict what could happen? What I will do is give you insight on that “Umbrella” that you need to have. 

An Umbrella insurance policy is much like an umbrella that you would trust to keep yourself protected from the weather you can’t control. An Umbrella policy is an extension to your liability insurance. It could also be described as the mega insurance policy that provides mega protection. 

If you are serious about protecting your investments an Umbrella policy will not disappoint you. A few things that the policy can cover are expenses associated with injuries to other parties due to a serious auto accident where you are at fault, or injuries sustained by a guest in your home due to a fall. 

The policy can also cover accidental damage to school property caused by your child (hey, you can’t disown them, right?!) 

If you have a pool at your residence, you should really consider an Umbrella policy incase an unfortunate event happens and someone else gets hurt on your property. They could sue you if they felt inclined to do so but with the Umbrella policy, you are shielded from them suing you directly. 

Think of all those court costs and legal fees that are associated with an injury if you didn’t have a policy to insure that you are protected! Yikes! 

Perhaps you are wondering if you have enough home insurance to cover your personal belongings in case of a fire or during an event of distress. The cool thing about the Umbrella policy is that it could also cover these costs if your home insurance wasn’t enough.
