07 Aug August Is Full Of Bizarre Holiday Declarations. We Declare August As “Save Money Month” Here At Spivey Insurance
I have always wondered how in each month of the year, we have some really unique holidays named and selected.
How in the world does someone decide? Truthfully, I have no idea, but August does have some really crazy holidays and month long celebrations.
With a little research, I was able to find out that for the month of August, 2012 the unique holidays are as follows:
- Admit You’re Happy Month
- Family Fun Month
- National Catfish Month
- National Eye Exam Month
- National Golf Month
- Peach Month
- National Picnic Month
- Romance Awareness Month
- Water Quality Month
No doubt there is a lot of commercialization attached to these monthly declarations.
I would imagine that the golf course associations teamed up to declare National Golf Month to encourage all of us to hit the links and spend some money at our local course. You can’t blame them.
The first week of August was “National Simplify Your Life Week”. Now that’s a week that I can fully support. I bet all of you would like every week of the year to be that declaration.
In no particular order.
August 25 is Kiss and Make Up Day. So what happens if you get into an argument of the first day of August? Should we wait until the 25th to make up? I think not!
August 21 is Senior Citizen’s Day. I think every day of the year we should celebrate and honor our senior citizens.
August 26 is National Dog Day. We all love dogs and I think we should celebrate our pets for 365 days a year.
August 6 is Wiggle Your Toes Day. How in the world did someone come up with that one?
August 10 is Lazy Day. This may be my favorite day.
August 5 is Sisters Day. What happened to Brothers Day?
Here at Spivey Insurance we want to declare every day as a great day!
After talking with everyone here at the office I asked everyone what kind of month we should declare.
Without a doubt, we are declaring August “Save Money Month” at Spivey Insurance.
