Got a Need For Speed?

Looking for a fast car, without breaking bank and spending every penny you’ve got on your NC insurance? Insure.com recently did a study to find the cheapest cars that can reach 0 to 60 mph in 5-seconds or less. While researching into 44 different automobiles, they found the best bargain for your dollar.

Insurance rates are calculated using several different factors including the perceived risk of paying out injury and damage claims, the safety features of the vehicles, the likelihood of it being stolen, and the cost of repairing and replacing parts on the vehicle. The cheapest car, according to insurance premium cost per second of acceleration time was the Chevrolet Camaro SS. At a 0 to 60 speed of 5 seconds, the Camaro may not be the fastest of the bunch, but it is the best bargain at a cost of $324.00 per second of acceleration (the average national premium based on a 40-year with a good driving record is $1,620).
