It’s that time of year when the weather starts to cool down and we all start to think about the upcoming holidays.
I love this time of year. I love to see the fall colors start to appear.
The beautiful leaves start to turn and I love to take at least one day and make a trip to the North Carolina mountains.
Ok, call me weird but I also start thinking about something else, a little more serious. Getting my annual flu shot.
I know it’s not the most uplifting subject that I could be blogging about but I take it very serious.
Last year around this time, I neglected to take the time to go get my flue shot. A complete oversight on my part.
Later into the season, NC became a real hotspot for the flu and unfortunately, I came down with it.
It was an awful situation and I ended up going to urgent care late one evening. I thought I may end up in the emergency room.

The moral of the story is just to remind you that it’s the time of year when you must take the time to take care of yourself and schedule a flu shot for yourself and your family.
The season is just too nice to end up losing a couple of weeks feeling rotten and maybe spending a lot of time in bed when it possibly could have been avoided with a simple flue shot.
